For the first time, I plan to offer consultations to people interested in beginning, enhancing, or trouble-shooting their self-care. Since I am solidifying my approach, I'm seeking people who are adventurous enough to help me experiment! This will involve meeting (online) and having a simple conversation to explore ideas. If you would like to become one of my "practice clients" at no charge, feel free to complete a consultation request form on the Contact page.
Please Note: Consultation services are not considered therapeutic treatment. If I observe a client as potentially benefiting from psychotherapy in place of (or in addition to) consulting, I will communicate that accordingly.
Experience
For the past 20 years, I have helped people change thoughts and behavior through my work as a psychotherapist. I use similar concepts and tools as a consultant. My main strength lies in the ability to help people work with their thoughts in order to feel more positive about themselves and about their life circumstances. Fees for Service (N/A)
Intake Session (new clients): 60 to 90 minutes
Individual Sessions (after initial): 60 minutes
During the "practice period," new clients will be seen for one session free of charge.
Payment Method (N/A)
Venmo, CashApp, PayPal, Zelle
Payment in full is required prior to each session.
Scheduling
Consultation clients choose the number and frequency of their sessions. After you submit an initial request form (located on the Contact page), I will reach out to you by email to discuss scheduling options. Established clients are free to contact me directly or may complete a form.
My general availability is: Tuesday 10am to 7pm and Wednesday through Friday 9am to 2:30pm. If you would like to view specific openings, click here to see available weekly time slots on the Psychotherapy page.

I give clients:
~ Respect, kindness, empathy, and compassion.
~ Clear and transparent communication.
~ Partnership versus "telling you what to do."
~ Directness without being abrupt or confrontational.
~ Authenticity (e.g., I will not say things that I "don't mean" or suggest ideas that I would not try myself).
*I do tend to use a fair amount of humor (and sarcasm, at times) in my work with others, although I know when to "tone it down" during more serious discussions. Whenever possible, I like to keep things light-hearted, encouraging, and cheerful!
In consultation sessions, we can explore ideas such as:
~ Defining or better understanding your personal version of self-care.
~ Developing insights, such as: "What is it that I want, what works for me, what feels right to me?"
~ Exploring how outside influences affect your self-care (e.g., family, society).
~ Changing thoughts and behavior to create new positive patterns.
~ Identifying affirmations to positively motivate and to kindly support yourself when making changes.
