Found Hearts
M and I started noticing hearts in various places and started taking pictures (around 2023 to present).
We promise that all of the hearts were made by nature or by chance, not by us. : )

Rainbows
M and I started noticing rainbows that are made by a hanging crystal in our kitchen.
They always land where they will, but I've added some elements to a few. : )

Sundance
(the pink pony)
Around 2003, one of my sisters bought me an off brand My Little Pony keychain as a joke. The name on the package said “Sundance,” and my sister said she chose that particular one because of her creepy jeweled eyes. I’m not sure whose idea it was, but we started hiding Sundance around the house, and whoever found her had to hide her again. She showed up all over the place… in shoes, in pillowcases, in pockets and hoods, in the fridge or freezer, in drawers, up high, wrapped as a gift, sometimes in plain sight and other times blending in with the scenery. It’s kind of like a hybrid of Where’s Waldo and Elf on the Shelf. M is really good at slipping her into clothing while a person is wearing it. A few times, Sundance went on a trip after ending up in people’s bags, purses, or suitcases, but she always made it back home. Her hair’s a little worse for wear (we tried to brush and braid it at points), but all in all, she’s in pretty good shape! I had to do some re-creations since we don’t always take photos… I share these for fun and to inspire those who want to start a game of their own.
Chickadee Chow Down
M and I had an awesome time when we attended our first "Chickadee Chowdown" event at the Kensington Metropark Nature Center in 2023. (It's now called Chickadee Meet & Greet.)
The Nature Center staff person who presented to our group described the birds we might see and recommended against direct eye contact which the birds may find intimidating. In his words, "Don't stare into the their souls!" But what if the birds stared into ours?!! M and I dubbed the first three pictures "Chickadee Stare Down" as a result.
PLEASE NOTE: I'm sad to share that the park no longer allows people to feed the birds. : (
